POV

"Just when you think you know something, look at it in another way." - John Keating, Dead Poets Society

Recently, I came across an Instagram reel where one among two girls sitting next to each other looks upset and tells the other, "No one cares." But the other girl has a completely different attitude. She is all happy while saying, "Exactly, no one cares!"

Tap to watch the reel.

This is very similar to a famous social media meme of two guys looking out of two different windows of the same bus.

We are all bad in someone's story. For a man stealing food out of desperate hunger, he might not look at himself as a thief, but in the eye of a person viewing the act, he is. It's all a matter of perspective.

The way we look at things holds great significance. This works with our problems as well. Many a times, we are unable to find solutions because me might not be looking at the problem properly. With all the nervousness, fear and sorrow piling up, it is difficult to see the other side.

We often fail to realize the power of being optimistic. The phrase 'Be positive' carries more meaning than simply being a shield to ward off negativity. However, it doesn't imply keeping a smile all day. It is associated with having a calm and cheerful mind. When the sky is clouded, it is hard for us to spot the stars. In the same way, when our mind is clouded, it is hard to spot the stars hidden inside us; stars that could hold the answers to the questions we search for everywhere else, except within ourselves. Rhonda Byrne's 'The Secret' portrays the power of positive thinking in the best possible way. A positive mindset also makes us appreciate things - things we otherwise fail to notice. As the saying goes, 'beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.'

Many things might seem silly if we learn to look at them lightly. Life itself isn't a big deal if we approach it in a relaxed manner. It all boils down to one's Point Of View.
