Every once in a while, my mind takes me back to this place my heart calls home. My school.

Home is where family is. Home is where you fear nothing and no one (although you're scared of mama yelling at you for your latest mischief.) "It is where your best self lives." A school is our second home, where we have our second parents - our teachers, our friends - all the love and care, just like the warmth of a family. As someone once said, a school is not an institution, it is an emotion, and I feel blessed to have studied at Carmel CMI Public School, Vazhakulam. 
 
Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere and school is the place that holds the treasure. But school isn't just about academics. With all the time that we spend there, we realize it's much more than that. 

Looking back, onto the eight years of my life at Carmel, I see what it has shaped me into. I relish the sweetness of the memories - the classes, the corridors, the celebrations, and what not! I have these memories treasured for my entire life, and wherever I am at, I know that it is a souvenir to live through.

Grade seven and eleven were my best years. Grade eleven, especially. In the progression from tenth to twelfth grade, it provided a comfortable, in-between phase. I had to no longer study subjects I didn't like, the coursework was manageable, and I had the best set of friends and teachers. It was a free and safe space where I could express my true self.  

Carmel was my home, and there's no place that can replace home.

    Home is where you are accepted for you are. And luckily enough, i too can call carmel my home. 14 years! I came there as a kid, timid and fearful and came out ready to take on anything. It's a boon that you didn't know me then.😁😁😁😁

Oyasumi Punpun

Manga review Long, lonely lanes are all I see while I walk home to Punpun. I open the manga, flip the pages, see familiar faces stare into my soul. The air is stiffening, oh, so is my heart, as Punpun lies in his tub pondering over existence. Had I been the mangaka, I'd've colored him blue. He'd be soaring heights without the aid of the sky. I fell asleep trying to connect the stars of a constellation that he loves. I heard him whisper, "What's the point?" Or was it the echo of my own screams? How I wish he was real. I'd have a twin. Some people come into our lives at the right time. And when the time is right, they leave. People play a very important role in shaping our lives. Every person we meet, constitute a part of our life, no matter how short their stay is. Where we end up or who we end up with can often depend on specific people we come across in particular places. But 'ending up' is not final. We can never say "I 'ended up' doing this job." because we don't know for sure. We might 'end up' doing something else. And while it's difficult to deal with everything we lose in this ghost ride called life, we can have faith; belief, that whatever happens, whether good or bad, occurs for the best until God reveals to us what the 'best' truly is. But that also means never looking back and walking forward without turning our heads. But sometimes, that's the only way. We are obliged to lend our ears to a whole lot of people saying, "This is how life is!"
